Waverly Village National Night Out Kick-Off Parade!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 2 at 11 a.m. and the 3rd annual Waverly Village National Night Out Kick-Off Parade!
The parade begins at 11 a.m. and proceeds along Greenmount Avenue between 35th and 29th Streets. This is a can't-miss neighborhood event with plenty of music, step groups, and special guests like McGruff the Crime Dog.
This year, there are two new ways that you can be part of parade:
The Best Pet Yet Parade
Got a dog who can skateboard? A fabulous feline? An incredible iguana? Enter them for the Best Pet Yet Parade. Judging and prizes will follow at the end of the parade route. Prizes are sponsored by the Baltimore Dog Bakery and Pretentious Pooch.
Baltimore Bike Pageant
Sign up to ride your bicycle in the parade and compete for awesome cycling-related prizes like a helmet, pumps, and a free registration for the Tour du Port! Prizes are sponsored by One Less Car, Proteus Bicycles, Light Street Cycles, and REI.
To register for the Best Pet Yet Parade and the Baltimore Bike Pageant, please contact Laura Kindseth at 410-258-6295 or lkindseth@greaterhomewood.org.
The 3rd Annual Waverly Village National Night Out Kick-Off Parade is sponsored by Waverly Main Street, Greater Homewood Community Corporation, Union Memorial Hospital, Johns Hopkins University, and Target.
See you at the parade! And afterwards, stop by the community-built playground behind the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg YMCA (East 33rd Street and Ellerslie Avenue). It's open for everyone!
